It is particularly calculated for the northern and middle states... The Work is, in part, an abridgment of the essays of others--and, in part, it is original. Acknowledgements are due to the gentlemen whose essays have been published by `the society of the promotion of agriculture,'...The Farmer's Assistant is intended to simplify and methodise [sic] the existing knowledge of Farming in our country; and as far as the author shall be found to have succeeded in his first attempt, so far shall his most predominant ambition be gratified.
