Condition: pages edges gilt but rubbed a bit and dulled some, marbled endpapers, just starting to wear through leather at corners, 2 corners bumped, rubbed a bit, marbled endpapers with markoff stains from leather turn-ins around edges, front endpapers & flyleaves plus first few pages are worn down along the fore-edge with a small tear in each, light to medium foxing, a few dog-ears, 1.4 x .8cm piece torn from bottom margin of last leaf, 2cm diameter stain top of front flyleaves and first few pages.

Condition: with faded gilt title on spine, original owners name "F. Heath."on both covers--readable on front but gilt worn away on back cover, worn through leather at corners, rubbed & scuffed some, very small hole rubbed at top and bottom of front hinge, gilt page edges rubbed & dulled and with 7 or 8 starts, bright yellow paste-down endpapers, lacks all free endpapers and flyleaves, first and last few pages with heavy mark-off foxing from turn-ins, light to medium tanning of pages and foxing, dog-ears, small damp stain in top outside corner.
