A quite nice edition of Burns. At the head of each poem, song or letter is printed where and when it was first published. The Scotch words are printed in italics, and their English meaning, in small type appears at the end of each line. The date of the compositions, and the age of the Poet at the period, appear at the head of each alternate page. Included are historical notes after each item. Many have music with them or at least give the name of the tune they were sung to. The final volume contains chronological and topographical table of Burns' works, a lengthy Scottish glossary with examples from Burns' works, an index of first lines, an index to Burns' letters, and finally a general index. Plus there are sixty-some fine etchings, maps, facsimiles, etc.
