The Liége theologian Andreas Fabricius (1520-1581), Councillor to Albert Duke of Bavaria, besides rephrasing the doctrinal exposition of the Creed, Sacrament, Decalogue, etc., in the form of questions and answers, also added interpretative comments printed in the margins. Fabricius' work proved quite popular, and was often reprinted. Plantin himself issued reprints in 1574, 1583 and 1587. There were at least ten other reprints between 1591 and 1698.
